On the day of the competition Ilmataat (aka “Weatherdaddy”) blessed Ristna, the western most tip of Hiiumaa, with 10-14ms side shore winds and waves up to 2 meters. During the 5h of competition 27 heats were run in both single and double eliminations. The duration of the heat was 10 minutes during which the waves and jumps of the competitors were judged. Two waves and one jump were taken into account when giving points and as always in competitions, some of the heats were really close and less than a point separated the competitors.

The competition then carried on with Estonian Championships in wave riding for women. As there were 3 competitors, the winner was decided based 2 heats where all the 3 women showed their best skills. As a result Kadri Hirvesaar came on top and took the 2017 Estonian Championship title.
