Keros is a large sandy beach located within a protected ecosystem, with turquoise warm water and the famous meltemi wind. Shallow and safe with flat water conditions but also a mini-wave piste on the south part of the bay.
Best Conditions
Keros’s best feature is its location; featuring sand dunes, natural salt lakes, flamingoes etc, making it a unique windsurfing spot.
Spring/Summer
Summer is when the Meltemi wind is blowing, the sun is shining and its board short weather. Can’t beat that!
Autumn/Winter
Autumn and winter are still great, with mild temperatures (shorty or 3/2mm wetsuit) no crowds, and very mellow vibes.
Spot 1
On the North side of the bay is the flattest water and most beautiful conditions.
Spot 2
In front of the station are shallow, flat conditions with a tiny chop further out.
Spot 3
Gomat – easy onshore waves – mostly works in Spring/Autumn or when strong at Keros.
Transportation
Renting a bike is a great option to get around Keros bay, but to go around the island a scooter or car hire is recommended.
Accommodation
Surf Club Keros Lodge & Spa is the only accommodation on the spot and you can stay in luxury safari tents; great view of bay.
Eating & Drinking
At same location there is a restaurant with breakfast and meals all day. Beach bar also, where you can buy snacks/drinks in-between your sessions.
